The ASIN Library: categories, product groups, COGS and CSV import
The ASIN Library (under the Products menu) lists every SKU you have listed, one row per SKU. Other pages use it to filter by category and product group, and to find a product's cost, TACOS limit and lead time.
Where the data comes from
Listings come from Amazon's listings report and sync automatically. Titles, images and the category and sub-category (from the Best Sellers Rank) are fetched once per ASIN. Products Amazon marks Inactive (for example out-of-stock FBA) stay in the library, and SKUs absent from the report are marked Removed.
You can refresh an ASIN or the whole store, limited by a 24-hour cooldown per ASIN and a separate 24-hour cooldown per store.
What you can set
| Field | Use |
|---|---|
| Product group | Group variations of the same product. Used by filters, Insights and Performance. |
| Category / sub-category | Your own value wins over Amazon's and is never overwritten by a sync. Clearing it returns to Amazon's. |
| TACOS threshold % | Triggers TACOS alerts. |
| COGS per unit | Needed for profit and break-even ACOS. |
| Lead time (days) | Used for the restock quantity. |
Group variations from Amazon
Instead of typing product groups, click Group variations (next to Import CSV). Amazon already knows which of your ASINs are variations of one product (a parent with colour, size or style children). The button shows what it would do first:
- SKUs whose ASINs share an Amazon parent are put in one product group, named after the parent's title.
- Only SKUs with no product group are filled. A group you set by hand or by CSV is never changed.
- It also tells you how many SKUs have no parent on Amazon (standalone products) and how many have no Amazon data yet. Those stay as they are: group them yourself, or check again after the next refresh.
Click Apply to save. You can rename or change any group afterwards. Amazon's families are not always the way you think of a product (a seller can have several families for one product), so look at the preview before applying.
Set them per row, for several selected rows, or in bulk by CSV. Editing needs the Store manager role or higher. Anyone can read.
Bulk edit with a CSV
- Apply the filters you want, then Export (CSV export needs the Growth plan or above). You get one row per product in view; the file is also your template.
- Edit it: product group, category, sub-category, TACOS threshold %, COGS, lead time.
- Import it. You see a dry run first: what will change and any errors.
- Confirm to apply.
Rules: a blank group clears that product's group, a blank category returns to Amazon's, rows with no changes are skipped, and if any row has an error nothing is saved.
Where the filters apply
Product group, category and sub-category filters work on Performance, Orders (and its export), Products and Insights. They match every listing that is not Removed.
